Limits
Everything Workpaper can't do yet, in one place.
We'd rather you hear these from us than find out halfway through a project.
| Limit | Today |
|---|---|
| Computer size | 2 vCPU, 4 GB of memory, 10 GB of disk. A 4 vCPU, 8 GB, 20 GB size exists at double the price, but you have to ask us for it; the CLI can't pick it yet. |
| Running at once | 2 computers per account; you can have more that are stopped. The whole service runs about 8 at once. When it's full, the CLI waits its turn for a free one, and nothing is charged while you wait. Paying users go before free trials. |
| New Pro sign-ups | When we're at capacity, new subscribers join a waitlist in the console, so everyone who already pays can run their computers. We email you as soon as there's room. |
| Time per start | Up to 1 hour, then the computer stops and keeps everything. Start it again to continue. |
| Idle computers | Stopped after an hour of doing nothing. |
| Region | India only. Fast in India, slower elsewhere (see How it works). |
| Incoming connections | Not supported. You can't open a port or host a website on a computer yet; programs listening on a computer can only be reached by you, through the CLI. Outgoing internet works. |
| GPUs | None. |
| Software | Debian 13 with git, curl, Python 3.12, uv, pytest, Node.js 24, the Lightpanda headless browser, Claude Code and Codex. Everything else you install yourself, each time you create a new computer. Forking a set-up computer saves you doing it twice. |
| Backups | None. If our hardware fails, a computer's files can be lost. Keep anything important in git or copy it out. |
| Uptime | No guarantee yet. See Early days. |
